I live about ten minutes from the Carolina Renaissance Festival and until last year, I had never been before. This is our second straight year going and it is an absolute blast. Since it was the weekend before Halloween, the kids dressed up in their Halloween Costumes and were able to Trick-O-Treat throughout the entire event.
Al the vendors at the Carolina Renaissance Festival seem to have all the best toys, gadgets and more that my kids absolutely love.
Talented Performers and Characters
We sat and watched the belly dancers again this year. Between the sarcastic emcee and the shaking hips of the belly dancers this show never disappoints. This year it seemed to be even better than last year. But our favorite is the Naughty Pirates. Yes, the name sounds a little not suitable for kids, but its far from that. Yes, when they breathe fire and put fire in their mouths its not kid-friendly, and kids should never do that, ever, but it didn't disappoint. Here's a video of them. Again these are trained professionals, you should never do this.
The one thing that we failed to do this year was time it right to see the jousting. However, having a baby this year, and nap times, we weren't able to watch the jousting. We did, however get to see the Queen, (Long live the Queen!), and got to participate in a toast with her.
Once againg... the Carolina Renaissance Festival NEVER disappoints! It is fun for every age and character, including Batman and Robin, Knights, and even the lovely Queen.
The Carolina Renaissance Festival is a cornucopia of sights, sounds, smells, and tastes. Nearly 1,000 artists that specialize in all types of creative mediums, work each Festival day to throw the region's largest costume party. For more information and to get your tickets please visit theirwebsite.
